A. C. Steere Elementary

We are excited to welcome Mr. Russell Scott as our crossing guard at Grover and Atlantic!  Mr.  Scott was born in Shreveport, LA in 1941.  He attended Caddo Heights Elementary, Linwood Junior High School, and Fair Park High School.  He graduated in 1965 with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana Tech University.  Mr. Scott went on to serve in the United States Airforce Reserves from 1965-1971.  He then worked as a purchasing manager at McKesson Automated Prescription System in Alexandria, LA.   Mr. Scott also studied at the Southwestern Baptist Theological Extension Institute in Alexandria, Louisiana and served as pulpit supply to Baptist churches needing interims pastors in the Rapides Parish area.  Previously, Mr. Scott  served as a school crossing guard with the Bedford, Texas Police Department for 14 years at the Bedford Junior High School Zone.  Mr. Scott has been married to his wife Sharon for 57 years.  She retired from the Rapides Parish school system.  In 2023, the two moved back home to Shreveport, LA.  We are so fortunate to have Mr. Scott serving our sweet school and keeping our student safe each day!
